Development of Precise positioning system using inductive levitation

G. R. Jayanth | Nanometrology Lab

"Inductive levitation is the phenomenon where a conducive object is suspended using electromagnetic forces generated by eddy currents. And by controlling fields of electromagnets,  we can move the conductive object without friction in air and do the precise positioning useful for semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory experiments etc.  In this demo. I am going to show the initial stage that conductive plate is levitating above electromagnet and how forces are varying with height , frequency, supplied voltage."
